On the afternoon of May 11th, 2017, took place in Bishan the Opening Ceremony of Internship Base for International students of  Chongqing University. Vice President of Chongqing University, Meng Weidong, the member of the Standing Committee of Bishan Communist Party, Huang Wenjie, and the staff of the two sides attended at the signing ceremony. Under this program, more than 70 students from 23 different countries will start their internship in Bishan District. Also 30 enterprises attended at the ceremony. The establishment of the Internship Base for International students will play an active role in promoting the implementation of the “study abroad” program and deepening the cooperation of the School and Bishan District.

On February 22, 2017, with the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Chongqing University, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Italy and the Bishan District Government signed the agreement for the “Sino-Italian Innovation Industrial Area”. With this agreement, the three parties will build laboratories and they will reach technological achievements and other cooperations. In order to speed up the construction of the “Sino-Italian Innovation Industrial Area”, Bishan will cooperate with Chongqing University to built a internship base for international students, which also symbolise a solid step forward to international exchange and cooperation of Bishan.

Huang Wenjie expressed his gratitude to Chongqing University for its contribution to the economic development of Bishan. In his speech, he pointed out that Chongqing University will recommend excellent students to go to Bishan enterprises, and they will boost Bishan high-tech zones to further open its doors to the outside world and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.

The Vice President Meng Weidong highlighted in his speech, that this project is a concrete measure to develop the brand of Study at Chongqing University and it will offer to the students the opportunity to interface with the world of work in China. On the other hand, it will help to provide international talents to Bishan District, playing an important role in developing Bishan’s economy. This relationship will achieve definitely  a win-win results between the two sides. In closing he will hope that CQU’s students will value the internship opportunities and give full play to their innovative capability, and after their graduation, when they will return in their country, they will serve a bridge between China and their foreign countries.

After the signing ceremony, the students went to visit Chongqing Lantai Powertrain Lte., a private enterprise producing gearbox for automobile, Varroc-TYC Auto lamps Co Ltd., an automotive lighting joint venture. In the highly mechanized, automated production laboratory, students had the chance to take a pictures and do some questions about the production process, product material, international market development and other issues.
